When can I feed my baby Simple Starters?

We have consciously removed staging and age recommendations because we believe all babies progress at their own pace. Simple Starters can be used as early as baby’s first bites. 

Please make sure to speak to your pediatrician before starting to feed solid food.  

 

What is the difference between finger food, chunky puree and smooth puree?

Finger food is meant to be eaten as a soft, whole ingredient. Chunky puree is typically fork mashed, thick and may have chunks of soft food. Smooth puree has no chunks, and can be made to either a thick or thin consistency depending on the amount of liquid added.

 

How many meals can be made from one package?

Each package makes a minimum of four, 4 oz portions. The number of meals you can make will fluctuate based on your baby’s appetite and the amount of liquid added.

 

Can your products be prepared using breastmilk or formula?

Yes, both can be used in place of cooking liquid or water in our recipes. Note that any preparations using previously frozen breast milk or formula cannot be stored in the freezer.

 

What is the best way to store prepared food?

We recommend storing in BPA free plastic, freezer safe glass containers, or ice cube trays for smaller portions. Food can be stored for up to three days in a refrigerator and three months in a freezer.
 

What is the best way to reheat prepared food?

For best results, thaw in the refrigerator and then serve either at room temperature or warmed to your preference. Add water to thin puree if necessary.
 

Where do your ingredients come from?

Our ingredients are mainly sourced from farms all over the US and have been sampled extensively to ensure we are choosing only the best!

 

Are your ingredients organic?

All of our products are certified USDA organic, and non-GMO!
 

Are your ingredients gluten free?

All of our products are gluten free, however our lentils are processed in a facility that may contain wheat.

 

Are your ingredients Allergen friendly?

Our food is produced in an allergen-friendly facility and does not contain: milk, tree nuts, peanuts, soy, eggs, fish, shellfish, wheat or sesame.

 

Is your packaging microwave safe?

For best results, we recommend using a baby food maker or steamer, however our inner packet packaging is microwave safe. 
 

Do you use preservatives?

We use natural ingredients, without the use of any added preservatives.

 

Is your packaging BPA-free?

Yes, all of our packaging is BPA-free.
